'Thirty-three years ago, in a house in Bélmez de la Moraleda, Spain, a lady called Maria Gomez claimed she saw a face in the floor of her kitchen. Surprised, she chipped away at the floor to get rid of it and as she did even more faces appeared.

Scientists tried to prove that Maria Gomez must have either been mistaken or that she had painted these faces on the floor herself. The kitchen was closed for three moths while they did some tests on the floor, but nothing was discovered and the faces remained. They then dug a trench in the kitchen and discovered bones from a 13th century graveyard.
